Organizing for a Peaceful Atmosphere – meditation and visualization

Reading time: < 1 minute

There are a lot tangible benefits to organization, but did you know that organizing your personal space may also deliver positive mental and spiritual benefits?

Purging your home and workplace from jumble and unneeded items can symbolize a deeper process of cleansing and purification. As you cast aside old, worthless jumble and better organize what’s left, you're effectively creating a sensation of lightness and freedom that can benefit you both mentally and spiritually.

On an active level, the effects of cleaning and de-cluttering may be even more profound because the process clears up stagnancy and calls in a flow of fresh, invigorating energy (also called “chi,” “ki,” or “qi” – which means “universal life energy”).

Self help groups, do they help or hinder a person?

Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes

watercoloursfmr asked:

In a self help group I attended 2 times this week, people moan and groan about their situation unable to help themselves.Even after 10 years in the group they are still doing the same behaviour and wondering why.
I have heard of Gambler’s Anonymous and Alcoholic Anonymous etc. do they really help or are they just social place for fellowship with the same problem?
My problem is my feelings of low self esteem due to my family situation which is ….Father passed away 3 years aggo, Mother had dementia, brother is Handcapped with Down’s Syndrome and I am responsible for everyone ,yet no one is responsible for me. Should I get a boyfriend and that will help my situation????
I am an attractive ,professional person with a University degree and what I consider a good lifestyle…clean , honest , responsible yet I feel my background is not good compared to other families and I am not successful .
Should I try out the self help group some more ???What do other people do ???

Self Esteem and Self Image…help?? :(?

Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes

Pink Terror asked:

I have probably the worst self esteem Ive ever had. And I normally wouldnt go on here to get an answer about this particular subject, but I just feel sort of lost on it. I have NO idea how to positively effect my self esteem. It is really bad, and is cauing a multitude of other issues, including distorted body image. I am getting so frustrated! :( I have a very hard time making friends because of how bad my self esteem is. Social situations are primarily just avoided altogether. Is there any literature I could read to get me started? Or any programs or audio you recommend? Whate are some things you have tried to help yourself? Ive tried positive reinforcement and self dialogue, and my husband is very supportive, but I feel like I need something more. I dont know :( Please give me any advice you have. Its a lonely world out there when you can’t get to know anyone and you don’t even like yourself…thanks. <3

Success and Personal Development

Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes

SUCCESS

It is a sad fact of life but not everyone can be as successful as they would wish to be. In the world we live in there are winners and losers. Most people want to be in the group of winners but unfortunately many remain where they stand. One definition of being successful means to stand above the others around you or to know more that the one sitting next to you does.

You should understand how to have more success than your colleague and to work for success. Success doesn’t come free or cheap, you have to pay for it. The price is not always monetary but it is expressed in manners of time and effort, these being precious details that you can’t receive back once you gave them away.

Success is hard. Generally speaking to be successful you have to work hard and have a little bit of luck (luck being described as laboring under correct knowledge) Often you have to try many times until you truly reach success.

“Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert (Book Recommendation)

Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes

“Eat, Pray, Love” by Elizabeth Gilbert

This is one of the most enjoyable and uplifting books I have read in a long time.

Autobiographical but reading like a novel, it tells the story of the author’s internal and external journey in search of spiritual enrichment and meaning after a difficult divorce and disillusionment with her life in corporate America.

She first travels to Italy, where she enrolls in a language school, not because of any need for a knowledge of Italian but in order to immerse herself in the beauty of the language and the passion of the country and its people. The ‘eat’ part of the title comes from her appreciation of the Italians’ love of good food and understanding that preparing meals and eating them in good company feeds the soul as well as the stomach. Reading this section of the book made me want to visit Italy again very soon.
