Beating Brain Overload – Suggestion (Part 1)

Reading time: < 1 minute

Here are the first 5 ways you can beat brain overload.

1. Meditate
By meditate, I mean relaxing with your eyes closed for at least 20 minutes. Sit still and simply note the thoughts that arrive into your mind. Don't try to solve any problems. Just chill out and let go.

2. Take A Walk
A brisk walk out-of-doors—especially in parkland or somewhere you are not familiar with will take your mind off your main task so it can relax. Pay attention to the views as you travel. Stop and smell the roses, as the cliché goes. Take a minute to see the beauty of panoramas.

3. Listen to classical music
Sitting still with relaxing music playing through headphones can exceed the brain overload. It will relax you while cajoling your mind to think about other things.

Leadership – A Tale of Two ….

Reading time: 2 – 2 minutes

This is a story I heard recently about Leadership. It is about two men who have been in a similar business for over 40 years. Both are now within a couple of months of retirement.

One is confident and self-assured. He is a former president of his local professional society. He has a fairly big voice, and he’s fast to tell you about his achievements. When asked any technical type question, he always has a quick response, never looking anything up. He says he ran his own business organization for many years before he linked up our business firm three years ago. He hasn’t told me why he stopped, but it has become clear. His quick answers are usually incorrect. His work is embarrassing to ay the least at its best. He claims to be a leader, but he is not recognized by his peers as being one..

The other man is quiet and modest and some even call him, a very old fashioned term I know, a gentleman. More likely than not, he’ll be apologetic as he shows you some of his brilliant work. When asked a question, he almost never has a quick answer. Instead it usually takes him some time to dig out his notes and come to a solution. Often, he’ll work late into the night to retrieve the right answer because he’s curious, too. He speaks gently, and I’ve never seen him upset. More than once, I have seen him silence a loud meeting without raising his voice. When he speaks, people invariably listen. That’s real Leadership in my view.

Deliberate Attraction

Reading time: < 1 minute

With

Universal Laws

and in particular the

Law of Attraction

here are some simple steps to clarify any confusion you could have as to what your real “wants” are. It will also help you master your “Inner Critic” you know that little voice in your head who is constantly talking to or at you.

1. Do you know what you want?
2. Can you visualize your desire?
3. Are you alert?

Know what you want.
Take any topic you like, say discovering your ideal partner, creating more wealth than you ever dreamed of, buying your ideal house etc. It is my personal belief that the Law of Attraction always work best when what you desire is something that will help others.

Don’t Wish – Will!

An unexpected source for today’s quotation…

Chris

“The most important thing in life is to stop saying ‘I wish’ and start saying ‘I will.’ Consider nothing impossible, then treat possibilities as probabilities.”

The Law of Attraction – Always? (continued)

The Law of Attraction – Always? (continued)

Following on from yesterday’s post, I have just finished listening to a teleseminar in which the well-known internet marketer Mike Filsaime interviewed Dr Joe Vitale, author and teacher from The Secret.

Joe’s rags-to-riches story is quite inspiring, and he is a great exponent of the effect of the Law of Attraction in all circumstances, good or bad. It was therefore interesting hear him being asked about the point I wrote about yesterday by Donna Fox, one of Mike’s business colleagues.

Donna prefixed her question with a warning that it was not a ‘feel good’ point that she wanted to make, and that it might be tricky for Joe to answer. I appreciated the fact that Donna felt able to pose a ‘difficult’ question to Mike’s interview guest, and it was to Joe’s credit that he didn’t try to duck the issue.

Key Quotations from The Secret

Key Quotations from The Secret

I was recently re-reading the book which goes along with the movie The Secret and I made note of a number of quotations which I felt summed up the whole idea of the Law of Attraction.

Rhonda Byrne’s four words at the end capture it very well.

Warmly,
Chris

Magnifying the Positive Effects of Gratitude

Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes

Magnifying the Positive Effects of Gratitude

I have written about gratitude in previous posts in this blog, and I truly believe that it can be a very powerful force in life, causing us to focus on the positive and so bring about beneficial results.

A friend and I were talking about this earlier today, and she told me of a technique which she uses to help focus on gratitude and even to magnify its positive effects. It’s such as simple idea that I don’t know why I didn’t think of it – but I plan to start using the technique right away.

All you have to do is get fresh, new notebook – you may wish to choose one which will fit in a pocket or your purse or briefcase. You may wish to decorate it in a way which appeals to you. This becomes your personal “Gratitude Book” or “Gratitude Journal”.
