Andry S asked:
The book “Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus”. Are the ideas presented in the book really true? Men want to solve problems themselves, and women want to talk. I feel that to a certain extent, it is true. Other than that, I think the rest are easy to say but difficult to do. How do you fare those ideas for relationship startings? I think these ideas are good for self-improvement, but not starting a relationship. Tell me what you all feel and think about the ideas. Thanks a bunch.

Renys Mom asked:
As a single lady I get some free time, but I have a bit of a dilema. Most of the time I use my free time to somehow improve (either work on improving my dwelling or do investing), or do something useful, very seldom do I sit around. However, I really think I should take vacations as I need to make some pleasant memories. But then I see that time as wasted because I didn’t “improve” my situation in some way. I need to find a healthy balance. Any ideas here (and yes I know many of us don’t have a moment to spare!)

I’m about to enter a new career in sales and I have a huge collection of all kinds of motivation/self improvement and sales/negotiation training materials. Audio, video and books.
However, in the *real* world, what have people found to be highly useful and workable? If you are a high achiever sales/negotiation wise-what if any would you recommend to a newcomer?
I’m looking at business to business telesales as a starting point and hope to add face to face relationship building as I progress.

She is becoming increasingly unhappy with her life and blames everyone else for not phoning / talking / being who she has decided they should be, but is dead against ‘self improvement’ type ideas. After all (as she says) everyone got through the War without needing any of this silly sort of stuff. Her views – not mine. Has anyone any kind ideas to gently enlighten her about the concept of cause and effect. She doesn’t want to change so I would just like a way of dealing with her really. I am not being a doormat – after years of disliking her, I now feel sad that she is this way and would really like to help.

After seeing Larry King’s show last night on “The Secret” I am interested in what other people have read regarding self improvement for gaining more success and life fulfillment. The Secret to me seems to be repetitive as far as other self help methods plus “Law of Attraction” principles written about from everyone Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins, Norman V Peal, The Magic of Believing and of course the Bible is filled with “ask and ye shall receive.” Of course things aren’t always that simple for everyone, especially that people’s mind sets are unique and what works for one doesn’t necessarily work beneficially to others. There are so many self help method books and DVD’s out there now, so I would like to see what you guys have used that made real life changing breakthroughs and helped improve your finances, relationships, goals, jobs, whatever
