The words, self-improvement and personal growth are quite common in our society nowadays. I think the idea of self-improvement and relative products and services are a sign that we are brave to understand our personalities and to admit our intrinsically deficiencies. The honest and realistic attitude could definitely help a person to improve in some aspects which could eventually help one conquer some of the deficiencies and live a happier life.

As a single lady I get some free time, but I have a bit of a dilema. Most of the time I use my free time to somehow improve (either work on improving my dwelling or do investing), or do something useful, very seldom do I sit around. However, I really think I should take vacations as I need to make some pleasant memories. But then I see that time as wasted because I didn’t “improve” my situation in some way. I need to find a healthy balance. Any ideas here (and yes I know many of us don’t have a moment to spare!)

She is becoming increasingly unhappy with her life and blames everyone else for not phoning / talking / being who she has decided they should be, but is dead against ’self improvement’ type ideas.After all (as she says) everyone got through the War without needing any of this silly sort of stuff. Her views - not mine. Has anyone any kind ideas to gently enlighten her about the concept of cause and effect. She doesn’t want to change so I would just like a way of dealing with her really. I am not being a doormat - after years of disliking her, I now feel sad that she is this way and would really like to help.
