Patience…

Forms of Patience

Part of my challenge has been learning patience and as I learn about this I thought I should share this with you.

At one end of the scale patience can take the form of the passive act of waiting without agitation or complaint.

However patience can be linked to action - the painstaking completion of a laborious task or the relentless pursuit of a goal.

Peacemaking …

Tools of peacemaking

“Peace is not the absence of war: it is a virtue; a state of mind; a disposition for benevolence and justice” - Benedict de Spinosa

As part of our self-improvement and personal development we come across situations where we must understand about peacemaking.

I have found this to help me when I think about what we have learned from our past. The native Americans provided a form and a ritual for establishing peace, including the pipe of peace and the ceremony of burying the axe.

Do As You Will

It is not that there is a special group who are often seen to be inflicted it also includes those women who appear to have everything altogether and seem to know themselves on the surface often suffer from low self-esteem in the privacy of their own company.

One school of thought lays the blame for this on the power of publishers, news, magazines and movies in that they promote the ‘super female‘ from perfect hair, skin, teeth, body shape, career, life partner and on and on. Advertisers have used these methods of promoting the latest and greatest (…… fill the blanks …….) that if you buy this, read that, rub on the other and abstain from something else that you too can gain “perfection” - like the Stepford Wives movie.

Confidence is something that comes from within it’s not the latest accessory that you can pick at Wal-Mart or Walgreens.
