Finding Motivation

How To Find Motivation

I hate to exercise. I really do. I feel good afterward, and I’m definitely getting in better shape because of it, but I hate it. It’s a real challenge for me. Anyway what do my exercise habits have to do with finding motivation? Hang on for a few moments and it will all make sense. It may even be enlightening.

My latest physical check-up highlighted a few health challenges and lots of room for improvement. I’m planning an active holiday and the check-up showed that I would not be capable of enjoying the holiday and taking part in the activities unless there were some big changes in my health. That was a strong motivation to get back in shape, right? Sure it is, but that didn’t make it easy.

I’d get on the treadmill bound and determined to walk for 30 minutes, and I’d find myself getting bored out of my mind and irritated with the soreness in my muscles 15 minutes into it. Half the time I would just give up, and the other half was so aggravating that I vowed never to do it again. Of course, my motivation was strong, and so I’d try again the next day.

Dream Your Goals

Impossible is Just a Word

Everyone, at some point of his or her life, has dreamed of being somebody special, somebody big. Who hasn’t fantasized about being the one who wins the Lotto. How many times have we dreamed of being rich, or successful, or happy with our relationships?

Often, we dream big dreams and have great aspirations. Unfortunately, our dreams remain just that – dreams. And our aspirations easily collect dust in our attic.

This is a sad state of affairs in our life. Instead of experiencing exciting adventures in self actualization, we get caught up in the humdrum of living from day-to-day just barely existing.

Dig The Well

Dig The Well BEFORE You’re Thirsty

Tell me if this doesn’t sound like something you hear way too often, especially if you hang out at forums a lot. Personally, I hear this sort of thing so much, I just want to scream.

“I have a problem. My cat just died and I need $500 to give him a decent burial. I don’t want to just throw him in the ground. There’s this excellent pet cemetery down the street and I’d love to put his remains there. I need a way to make $500 fast. The vet can only keep his body for 3 days. So I need to make $500 in the next 2 days. Can you help me?”

Sound familiar? It should. This is what I hear. The truth of the matter is, there is no real quick way to make a substantial amount of money fast, not that I consider $500 a substantial amount of money. But even a sum like this takes time, especially if you’re just starting out.

Self Improvement Power

Self Improvement Power - Unlock it

We often reach a point in our life when we are ready for change and then we need a whole lot of information that will help us unlock our self-improvement power. Until then, something can be right in front of our face staring us in the eyes but we don’t see it. It is only when things go from bad to worse that we think of unlocking our self-improvement power.

The frog principle is a good example.

What happens if you try to place a frog into a pot of boiling water? He jumps off! Why? Because he is not able to tolerate the sudden change in his environment - the water’s temperature. However if you place the same frog in a pot of lukewarm water, then turn the hest on under the pot he will happily sit there as the water heats up thinking “Ooh… it’s getting a bit warm in here”.

AIM HIGHER

Why You Should Aim Higher

My grandmother would often say always aim higher than you believe you can reach. And then frequently, you’ll discover that when your gifts are set free by your imagination, you can achieve any goal that is set either by yourself or by others.

When people offer their help or wisdom as you go through life, accept it gratefully. There is so much to be learned from those who have gone before us. Never be afraid or hesitant to step off the accepted path and take the path less worn, head off in your own direction if your heart tells you that it’s the right way for you.

Always believe that you will ultimately succeed at whatever you do, and never forget the value of persistence, discipline, and determination.

The Power Of Mantras

The Creative Powers of a Mantra or Two

Do you know that mantras are a powerful way to generate the focus and energy necessary to create something in your life.

It is recommended that mantras should be short and sweet - one word or a simple phrase. Here is a generic mantra to increase the flow of money into your daily life. You can sat this in your mind when you are doing everyday jobs such as driving or cleaning, or if you want you can speak it aloud for even stronger effect.

Remember that self-created mantras are more powerful, than ones that are not created by yourself because they may lack the passion, or urgency that a self created mantra can relate to. Therefore feel free to change or alter this in any way that relates to you and your situation. One of the mantras that I personally use is :

You Can Be As Happy As You Want To Be

Be as happy as you want to be

I believe just about everybody has heard the hit single ‘Don’t Worry, Be Happy’ by Bobby McFerrin. The song has a really attention-getting way of bringing its message of being happy to everybody. Bobby McFerrin’s uncomplicated message certainly made numerous people happy by telling them not to worry.

Living a happy, bouncy and cheerful life is fantastic, and is also beneficial for your wellness. Being happy actually protects you from the tensions of life. Stress is connected to many of the top causes of death such as heart disease, cancer and stroke.

One of the more healthful things ever said is - ‘The only thing in life that will always remain the same is change’, and in our life we have the ability to make the essential changes if we really want to. Whenever we find ourselves in an intolerable situation we can always find comfort in the knowledge that it too would change.
