Why Men Don’t - (part 1)

Why Men Don’t Communicate -

(part 1)

Almost all women believe their man is the strong, silent type (or perhaps just the silent type when it comes to sharing their emotions), and they wonder how come he does not share his feelings.

Well here’s the simple truth: Men really do want to open up, about their hopes, their fears, and their passions. Yet arrange for him to be alone in a room with you, and he often turns into a Sphinx - living out the saying “Silence is Golden”. Why can’t he take his eyes off the TV and discuss the state of your relationship, or your financial position, or anything that would open his true emotional feelings? Why can’t he simply sum up his day in a few minutes?

Recent surveys have shown that in fact, one in five women say that they commonly fight about a man’s lack of verbal communication and interaction, and one in three men state that their failure to communicate effectively is the source of major disputes in the relationship. Now why is that so?

self harm HELP!!!?

ciaran91 asked:

My sister is going throgh a Extreme bad stretch of life at the moment and for about a year now. i believe that her feelings were bottled up and she is now got to the stage where she has been cutting her self and drinking. When she was drinking she slit her wrists and nearly died. the ambulance crew wanted to admit her into hospital but she refused. also her boyfriend is playing mind games with her also this is contributing to the self harm situation, she used to live with him and he has tried to strangle her twice once she vomitted. however she has broken up with him several times and went back with him after a while. she says that this time it is for good but i just cant take her word for it . i am afraid that the next time she slits her wrists it might be the last.

i believe to a certain extent that the self harm is for attention is it ?

i would like some help on how to deal with it !
she has agreed to go to counselling but said she couldnt be bother after.helponcovincing

Self Esteem and Self Image…help?? :(?

Pink Terror asked:

I have probably the worst self esteem Ive ever had. And I normally wouldnt go on here to get an answer about this particular subject, but I just feel sort of lost on it. I have NO idea how to positively effect my self esteem. It is really bad, and is cauing a multitude of other issues, including distorted body image. I am getting so frustrated! :( I have a very hard time making friends because of how bad my self esteem is. Social situations are primarily just avoided altogether. Is there any literature I could read to get me started? Or any programs or audio you recommend? Whate are some things you have tried to help yourself? Ive tried positive reinforcement and self dialogue, and my husband is very supportive, but I feel like I need something more. I dont know :( Please give me any advice you have. Its a lonely world out there when you can’t get to know anyone and you don’t even like yourself…thanks. <3

Beating Brain Overload - Suggestion (Part 2)

Here are the next 5 ways I suggest to beat brain overload.

6. Go to a movie.

If you are able to fit in a two hour movie, at the theatre, it is worth the time and money just so you can get away mentally and physically. Sitting in front of the big screen is a great way to take your mind off everything.

7. Listen to motivational CDs or mp3 recordings.
This is a tip I picked up from well a number of known motivational speakers. When they are tired from intense thinking, they listen to motivational recordings. Although it might seem like this would be more work, it isn’t. By listening, you can relax, and become almost passive, as the ideas and schemes gradually break the drain.

8. Play a sport
Studies show that people who do a competitive sport such as tennis, basketball, golf, martial arts, or football are happier overall. To compete in the sport may make you tired physically, but will wake you up mentally. When you wake up mentally, brain drain stops being as big a problem.

Success and Personal Development

SUCCESS

It is a sad fact of life but not everyone can be as successful as they would wish to be. In the world we live in there are winners and losers. Most people want to be in the group of winners but unfortunately many remain where they stand. One definition of being successful means to stand above the others around you or to know more that the one sitting next to you does.

You should understand how to have more success than your colleague and to work for success. Success doesn’t come free or cheap, you have to pay for it. The price is not always monetary but it is expressed in manners of time and effort, these being precious details that you can’t receive back once you gave them away.

Success is hard. Generally speaking to be successful you have to work hard and have a little bit of luck (luck being described as laboring under correct knowledge) Often you have to try many times until you truly reach success.

Motivation the heart of Personal Growth

Motivation

Pain may often be the reason why people change. Getting poor grades make us realize that we need to study. Debts remind us of our inability to look for a source of income. Being humiliated gives us the ‘push’ to speak up and fight for ourselves to save our face from the next embarrassments. It may be a bitter experience, a friend’s tragic story, a great movie, or an inspiring book that will help us get up and get just the right amount of motivation we need in order to improve ourselves.

With the countless negativities the world brings about, how do we keep ourselves motivated? Try on the tips I prepared from A to Z…

A - Achieve your dreams. Avoid negative people, things and places. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
