The three forms of love

As the center of personal growth there is nothing but love. So today I thought I would share some thoughts on the different forms of love.

As we learn from history I think it’s best to go back in history to Ancient Greek.

Ancient Greek is the language in which the New Testament was written and it has three words for love.

There is eros, the sexual passion we feel for another person, and philos, a less intense feeling of affection or friendship.

The third form of love, agape, is God’s fatherly love for all mankind, as well as I love for God.

Agape also denotes our feeling of loving kindness towards all other people – even those we do not know.

Whereas exotic love involves the possession of its object, agape is a love that gives with no expectation of anything in return.

So let me ask you when was the last time you thought about the forms of love in your life?
