Work Ethics To Live By
Ever so often, I believe, we need to stop and have a real look at what our goals are and are we still ontrack?
If one of your goals is to create improvement in your life is by making work a better experience for you then here are a few ideas to keep in mind.
* Failing to plan, is the same as planning to fail. One of the worst mistakes many people make is failing to plan. In doing so, you actually plan to fail because without a plan, you won’t get very far. If you don’t already have a work plan, sit down and write out some of your goals and plans right now.
* Do unto others as you’d have them do unto you. Believe it or not, in today’s world this old fashioned concept still works. Though a lot of people choose not to live by it, this concept can help you make long-lived relationships as well as supporting and helping others.
* Do it NOW – don’t wait. Procrastination drains you of energy and you get no real benefits from it. It’s just way too easy to put things off and tell yourself that you’ll get it done tomorrow. We all know that tomorrow never comes there is just now!
* Keep your word. When you say you’re going to do something, then do it. If you commit to finishing a project in three weeks and it turns out you’ll need more time, just tell your boss/team. You’ll be much more respected for fessing up, rather than ignoring the situation and hoping your boss/team will forget about it. Remember: you’re only as good as your word!
I hope that these suggestions will help you not only at work but also in other areas where you are looking for personal growth.
