Enlightenment

Two views of enlightenment.
Often when I am listening to or reading personal growth material I have to remind myself of the different views of enlightenment.
It is said that Western thinkers traditionally mean by enlightenment is the triumph of the reason [over, for example, self gratification, seeing, tradition or prejudice], whereas Eastern sages habitually see the term to mean the souls triumph over reason, as in the Buddha’s moment of enlightenment under the Bodhi tree.
The one that places emphasis on understanding, the other on the acceptance.
Many people now seek to harmonize these two view.
I believe that he is worth keeping this in mind during your self help and self improvement growth.

The Bible indicates that an enlightened conscience can be the voice of the Holy Spirit, while knowledge is the voice of the mind, and emotions are the voice of the body. As the Holy Spirit should rule the mind/soul, which should rule the body, so should conscience rule knowledge, which should rule emotions.
God wants to use all parts of us for His glory and our good.
