Personal growth compared to
Today I’d like to share one of my negative and destructive habits. Fortunately my desire for self improvement and personal development has helped me to overcome this habit. What I’m talking about is comparison - - you know compared to…
It took me a while to realize that comparing myself to others was one of the most destructive no-win games I had ever played with myself.
There will always be someone who is in better shape than us, fitter than us, richer than us and the list goes on and on.
Why was I playing the game? Was I looking for my self worth from the outside and so playing of that game of compared to? I think it was because I had not been taught about self approval so I had to go looking externally for it and this ended up with me living my life to other peoples expectations and values.
I had forgotten all of the good and great things about me, for years I hadn’t seen the good that I had done on the value I had given. I had given away my powers for no reason.
So where does this leave me now, firstly I do not compare myself to others and I know no matter what I have done or not done I am worthy of love.
