Dig The Well
Dig The Well BEFORE You’re Thirsty
Tell me if this doesn’t sound like something you hear way too often, especially if you hang out at forums a lot. Personally, I hear this sort of thing so much, I just want to scream.
“I have a problem. My cat just died and I need $500 to give him a decent burial. I don’t want to just throw him in the ground. There’s this excellent pet cemetery down the street and I’d love to put his remains there. I need a way to make $500 fast. The vet can only keep his body for 3 days. So I need to make $500 in the next 2 days. Can you help me?”
Sound familiar? It should. This is what I hear. The truth of the matter is, there is no real quick way to make a substantial amount of money fast, not that I consider $500 a substantial amount of money. But even a sum like this takes time, especially if you’re just starting out.
What galls me is that people dabble around, never really taking things seriously and then when the day comes when they need cash fast, they go into a panic.
Why do they wait until they’re thirsty before they start digging the well?
If you want to avoid this from happening to you, there are a few things that you can do.
For starters, sit down and make ablife plan. Don’t fly by the seat of your pants when it comes to making money. Have a clearly defined goal of what you want to do and in what time frame you want to accomplish it in.
The point is, nothing happens overnight. Plans need to be made. . So needing money TODAY is not going to work. You need to plan ahead.
There will be those reading this who will take this advice to heart. Then there will be those who will simply ignore it.
I hope you are among the former.
