A story of Personal Growth and The Facts of Life

A long long time ago, way before the creation of skyscrapers and airplanes, three young brothers yearned and dreamed to reach the clouds.

The oldest brother was determined to be the first to reach the clouds. So he gathered up all his money, found the local wise man and said “Here is all that I own, please tell me how I can reach the clouds.”

The wise man took the man’s money and said… “Build a giant sand castle, bigger than any man has ever seen… and you will surely reach the clouds.”

The second brother gave all his money to another wise man. That wise man took his money and said “Go to the north, gather up all the snow and build a giant staircase out of snow. Then climb up the staircase and you will surely reach the clouds.”

The third brother had no money. But he was determined. He sought out the wisest man in the land and told him of his plans to reach the clouds.

The wise man reached into his pocket and gave the boy a seed. He told the boy “To reach the clouds, you must water this seed. It won’t grow overnight, but in time you will reach the clouds.”

Can You Guess How It Ends? …

The water destroys the first brother’s sandcastle and he never reaches the clouds. The sun melts the staircase made of snow and the second brother never reaches the clouds.

But the water and sun grow the third brother’s seed into a sapling… and then into a mighty red wood. The third brother ultimately reaches the clouds.
